SYDNEY, Jan 18 AAP - If most Australians want a republic, why do attempts to give them one
seem doomed to become an expensive, time-consuming failure?
Even republican sympathisers question whether November's referendum can get up.
History is against it, and so is the prime minister.
The core issue has become lost, and so has the public.
